HEIC to WebP for websites
Browsers other than Safari can’t display HEIC, so photos straight from an iPhone can’t be used on the web as-is. WebP is the modern web format: it is supported everywhere, and it is noticeably smaller than JPG, which helps page speed and Core Web Vitals.
- Blog posts, CMS uploads (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow) and product photos.
- Faster-loading galleries and portfolios.
- Saving storage and bandwidth when hosting many photos.
Need something that opens in any desktop app instead? Use HEIC to JPG.
Privacy-first conversion
Your files are processed locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
- No file content sent over the network
- No file names or hashes in analytics
- Photos are dropped from memory when you close the tab
FAQ
Why convert HEIC to WebP?
WebP is supported by all modern browsers and is typically 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same visual quality, so pages load faster. It is the practical web format for iPhone photos.
Does HEIC to WebP work in every browser?
Conversion works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and other Chromium browsers. Older Safari versions cannot export WebP; if that happens you will see an error — use HEIC to JPG instead.
Is WebP lossy?
This converter exports lossy WebP at high quality (0.9), which keeps photos visually identical to the original while keeping files small.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Decoding and encoding happen locally in your browser with WebAssembly. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I convert a whole folder of HEIC photos to WebP?
Yes. Select or drop all the files at once — they are converted in parallel and can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
