Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 22, 2026
1. What this covers
This page explains the cookies and browser storage items that heic.imtool.app may set, what they do, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookies vs. local storage
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, which is
sent back to the server with every subsequent request. Local storage
(localStorage) is similar, but the data stays on your device and is never
transmitted automatically. For transparency, this policy treats both the same way.
3. Items we use
Strictly necessary (always set)
-
cookieConsent— stored inlocalStorage. Records your choice (“accepted” or “declined”) on the cookie banner so we do not re-prompt you on every visit. Expires when you clear your browser’s site data.
Analytics (only after you click “Accept”)
-
_ga— Google Analytics 4. Distinguishes visitors. Expires after 2 years. -
_ga_S1YSFMVD54— Google Analytics 4. Maintains session state for our GA4 property. Expires after 2 years.
While consent is denied, Google Consent Mode v2 prevents these cookies from being set. Only anonymized, aggregated signals (country, device category) are sent, without any identifier that can be linked back to you.
Advertising
We do not currently set any advertising cookies. If this changes in the future, this policy and the cookie banner will be updated before any advertising cookie is stored on your device.
4. Third-party providers
The only third party with access to cookie-level data is Google, via Google Analytics. Google’s own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses cookies for advertising
- Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
5. How to change your choice
- Decline retroactively. Clear
heic.imtool.appsite data in your browser (Settings → Privacy → Site settings → heic.imtool.app → Clear data). Next visit you will see the banner again. - Block at the browser level. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies or all cookies from specific sites. Both work for opting out of our GA.
- Global opt-out tools. Browser extensions like uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, or the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on prevent GA scripts from running at all.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. We honor these signals by keeping consent denied when they are present.
6. Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever we change which cookies or storage items are used. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
